ABOUT RESOLUTION ORIENTED
This is a blog. Its purpose is simple: to propose and prompt discussion of ideas to break through political gridlock, across a range of issues at the national, state and local levels. I live in the Chicago area, so most of the state and local discussions will focus on Illinois (but maybe not always!). It is not my plan to lay out a complete platform, or address every major issue we face. Instead I will highlight specific issues that appear intractable in the current environment, but which I believe have clear solutions that would garner wide support across the political spectrum. In other words, focusing our political will as a people on where we can agree, instead of shouting at those with whom we disagree.
I may at times relay facts or stories from my own life as examples or illustration, and in those cases I might use fake names or slightly altered information about identities, purely to protect others and keep myself anonymous. But beyond those narrow exceptions, let it be known that my writings herein are honest, the facts real and documented, and my feelings genuine. There will be no posturing or propaganda here.

My goal is for these ideas to get in front of as many people as possible. I want readers to think critically and engage a solution-oriented mindset. Then maybe, just maybe, some of these ideas will percolate through our communities to the people who govern. I believe this approach will help get us past the toxic red versus blue, us versus them attitude so pervasive in our modern political dialogue. Which is not to say it will solve everything, but that it can be one cog in the machinery that can propel us to better governance.
As for the blog, I would be very happy to see lots of discussion in the comments. Be aware that if I see comments that are clearly spam, or are ad hominem personal attacks against myself or other commenters, I reserve the right to delete them. But I will be very flexible on this, as I realize that emotions can run high on some of these issues. Feel free also to interact with us on our social media channels, and you can also email me (see below) if you have questions or concerns.
Thank you for reading!
